About Us

The Farm Rink began in 2020 as a simple effort to spend more time outside during the winter and play more hockey. There was no grand plan when we added the rink to our farm, just a love for the outdoors, the sport and the community. Today, people travel from around the world to come play at The Farm Rink. We feel blessed to be a part of so many memories.

The Farm Rink is a nonprofit organization on a working farm in Vestal, New York. It is operated by family and friends who work tirelessly to make the game of hockey and the joy of open-air skating accessible in a way that celebrates both the sport and the land it’s played on.

At The Farm Rink, the ice is just part of the experience. You’ll find yourself skating under open skies, surrounded by the sights and sounds of farm life. We encourage visitors to take a moment to slow down, meet the animals, lend a hand, or simply appreciate the rhythms of rural life that make our setting one-of-a-kind. We see it as a place where the values of teamwork, grit, and connection take shape, both in the game and around it.

As a nonprofit organization, we rely on the support of our community, volunteers, supporters, visitors, and donors to keep the rink thriving. Our focus is always on creating a positive, welcoming environment that reflects the best parts of winter here in Upstate New York.
